2022 Ford Bronco Raptor at 2022 Chicago Auto Show

The Bronco Raptor becomes Ford's top hot-rod off-roader. It starts with a new engine, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 good for 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. Then massive 37-inch tires and 13.1 inches of ground clearance and a new HOSS 3.0 suspension with electronically active Fox coil-over shock absorbers help round out the package.

The Sasquatch Package can now be had with a manual transmission. Front stabilizer bar disconnect, previously optional on Bronco Badlands is now standard on Badlands.

A new Bronco Everglades is meant for outdoor enthusiasts. Only available on Bronco 4-door, it includes a snorkel for advanced water crossing as well as all content of the Sasquatch package. Bronco Sport

The aptly named First Edition is no more, leaving the Badlands model as the only way to get the more powerful 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

Fog lights and keyless entry keypad are no longer standard on Big Bend. Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start and a full-size spare are now offered as options on Big Bend. The full-size spare, also available on Outer Banks, is part of the Class II Trailer Tow Package.

A Homelink universal garage door opener is now available, optional on Big Bend, Outer Banks and Badlands.

Dual zone air conditioning and front and rear automatic one-touch windows are no longer standard on Badlands.

EcoSport

Front-wheel drive models are discontinued, along with the turbocharged 3-cylinder engine and the dual-clutch gearbox. Now, a 2.0 DOHC 4-cylinder, 6-speed automatic and all-wheel drive are standard on all models.

Edge

2022 Ford Edge

All-wheel drive is now standard on all Edge models; higher base prices reflect it.

A keyless entry keypad, standard on SEL and above, is now optional on SE. Auto up/down front passenger window is discontinued equipment.

The Expedition gets a refresh for 2022, with freshened bumpers, grilles and standard LED headlights.

Rear Seat Occupant Alert is a new, standard system that monitors the back doors and reminds the driver to check the back seat if any open before or during a trip.

Rear parking sensors and dual-zone automatic climate control are also now standard.

A Timberline trim is now offered on short-wheelbase models, with almost an inch more ground clearance and other off-road enhancements, including premium off-road shock absorbers, heavy-duty radiator, a forward-facing spot light, red tow hooks, and steel skid plates under the front and rear and fuel tank.

A higher output version of the 3.5 twin-turbo is offered, standard on Timberline and part of the "Stealth" package. It features dual exhausts, forty more horsepower and twenty pound-feet more torque than the Limited, King Ranch and Platinum engine, for a total of 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet.

Explorer

ST-Line gives the appearance of the powerful ST, but with the less expensive 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder and only 300 horsepower.

ST models are now offered with rear-wheel drive, still packing 400 horsepower. King Ranch and Platinum Explorers now share the ST's same tuning level on their 3.0 twin-turbo V6 engines, with 400 horsepower.

F-Series

2022 Ford F-150 XLT Black Appearance Package

Gold packages were all the rage in the 1990s; this decade black is the new gold. The F-150 offers a Black Appearance Package for 2022. Only available on SuperCrew models with the Sport Package and the short cargo box, it includes 20" gloss black wheels, black running boards, black badging and decals, dual exhausts with black tips, a unique hood, and a unique black grille. Won't come with the base 3.3 V6, only 2.7 EcoBoost or higher engines.

Super Duty offers a new 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

GT

2022 Ford GT 64 Heritage

Every year of Ford GT production sees new liveries and colors. For 2022 a '64 Prototype Heritage Edition confuses us all: the car isn't a prototype, its a production model. It's heritage is that it resembles the 1964 prototype of the Ford GT40, a model that would eventually go on to win Lemans in a famous 1, 2, 3 finish. It comes only in Wimbeldon White with Antimatter Blue graphics, silver brake calipers with black lettering and lots of exposed carbon fiber trim.

The 3.5 twin turbo V6 engine has been rated at 647 horsepower for 2022, down 13.

2022 is the last year of production for the GT.

Mustang

2022 Ford Mustang

The Mustang GT's 5.0 DOHC V8 engine has been re-rated: down 10 horsepower to 450. The Mach 1's engine has been re-rated down 10 horsepower (470) and 10 pound-feet of torque (410).

An Ice White Appearance package is available on 2.3 EcoBoost Premium and GT Premium models. It includes specific white-painted wheels, clear tail light lenses, white door panel and instrument panel inserts, white leather seats, white seat stitching, a white rear spoiler, and a black grille with white pony badges. Not surprisingly, the only exterior paint color offered with the package is Oxford White.

EcoBoost Premium Mustang offers a new Stealth Edition, with blacked-out trim, black 19-inch alloy wheels, rear wing, black mirror caps, clear tail light lenses, and lighted door sills. The Stealth Edition costs an additional $1595 over the base price of the Mustang Premium.

The electronic steering wheel lock is discontinued.

Mustang Mach-E

 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E

Range is slightly higher on most models. Now from 224 miles to 314 miles.

An Ice White Appearance package matching the one on Mustang coupe and convertible is offered.

Shelby GT500

2022 Ford Shelby GT500 Heritage

500 Shelby GT500 Mustangs will be offered in Brittany Blue with Wimbeldon White stripes as Heritage Editions.

The electronic steering wheel lock is discontinued.

Transit

2022 Ford E-Transit at 2022 NY Auto Show

2022 Ford E-Transit at 2022 New York Auto Show

The E-Transit is the big news for 2022. All-electric and battery-powered, the E-Transit uses a single, 266-horsepower electric motor powering the rear wheels through a single-speed transmission. Range is 108 or 126 miles, depending on options. The E-Transit will obviously be primarily pitched to fleets.

Transit Connect

2022 Ford Transit Connect Van

Rain-Sensing front wipers and high-intensity discharge headlights are now standard. New one-touch front windows that go up or down with a single press are optional in cargo vans. Automatic dimming rearview mirror is standard on Wagon.
